WHO WE ARE

TRAP (Teach, Rise, Advance, and Prepare) is a nonprofit education program designed to provide life skills, financial literacy, emotional wellness, and career readiness to students in grades K–12 (GED & Transitional) (5-25 years of age). Through hands-on activities and real-world learning experiences, TRAP prepares youth to confidently navigate life beyond the classroom.

🌟WHY T.R.A.P.

We chose T.R.A.P. as the acronym for our program to give new meaning to a word that often carries negative associations in underserved communities. In many lower-income neighborhoods, children and teens are led to believe that their only way out—or their only path to success—is to "trap," a term that can represent hustling in ways that often involve risk, violence, or illegal activity. By redefining T.R.A.P. as Teach, Rise, Advance, and Prepare, we aim to shift that mindset. Our mission is to turn what once symbolized struggle into a message of empowerment—one that promotes ambition, focus, and success through education, growth, and positive action.
